Aparecida was diagnosed with a herniated spinal disc in July. The surgeon at Caruaru Orthopedic Institute recommended laparoscopic endometriosis surgery, and She is scheduled for October. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $1,750, and after what my employer's plan will pay we're still $1,300 short.
my mother has been in and out of Caruaru Orthopedic Institute since July. The doctors say a herniated spinal disc will get worse without laparoscopic endometriosis surgery. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $1,750 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Aparecida struggles with daily life and can't lift anything heavy. Her family has taken turns caring for her, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
Rehabilitation is expected to take about 6 weeks. During that time Aparecida won't be able to lift anything heavy, so the costs keep growing.
