Laparoscopic cyst removal for Simone: covering what insurance won't
After a herniated spinal disc, Simone was cleared for laparoscopic cyst removal, but the bill is more than we can manage.

Simone was diagnosed with a herniated spinal disc in June. The surgeon at Saint Joseph Hospital recommended laparoscopic cyst removal, and She is scheduled for September. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $2,300, and after what my employer's plan will pay we're still $1,600 short.
my daughter has been in and out of Saint Joseph Hospital since June. The doctors say a herniated spinal disc will get worse without laparoscopic cyst removal. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $2,300 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Simone struggles with daily life and can't look after the children alone. Her family has taken turns caring for her, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
The recovery period is expected to take about 4 weeks. During that time Simone won't be able to look after the children alone, so the costs keep growing.
I'll pay the hospital and pharmacy directly and post every receipt in the updates section.
