Rodrigo was diagnosed with an aortic valve defect in April. The surgeon at La Plata Orthopedic Institute recommended laparoscopic cyst removal, and He is scheduled for June. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $2,000, and after what the government subsidy will pay we're still $1,500 short.
my son has been in and out of La Plata Orthopedic Institute since April. The doctors say an aortic valve defect will get worse without laparoscopic cyst removal. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $2,000 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Rodrigo struggles with daily life and can't work a full shift. His family has taken turns caring for him, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
Recovery is expected to take about 3 weeks. During that time Rodrigo won't be able to work a full shift, so the costs keep growing.
