Laparoscopic cyst removal for Reza: covering what insurance won't
After a herniated spinal disc, Reza was cleared for laparoscopic cyst removal, but the bill is more than we can manage.

Reza was diagnosed with a herniated spinal disc in November. The surgeon at Malang Regional Medical Center recommended laparoscopic cyst removal, and He is scheduled for March. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $1,750, and after what the public health scheme will pay we're still $1,050 short.
my father has been in and out of Malang Regional Medical Center since November. The doctors say a herniated spinal disc will get worse without laparoscopic cyst removal. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $1,750 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Reza struggles with daily life and can't work a full shift. His family has taken turns caring for him, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
Rehabilitation is expected to take about 5 weeks. During that time Reza won't be able to work a full shift, so the costs keep growing.
I'll pay the hospital and pharmacy directly and post every receipt in the updates section.
Where the $1,050 goes:
• Pre-operative tests and imaging: $55
• Post-operative medication: $55
• Surgeon and anesthesia fees: $580
• Hospital stay (2 nights): $360
Thanks for being kind about this.
