Lanre is one semester away from finishing an electrical engineering diploma but is blocked from enrolling by an unpaid balance of $450.
🇳🇬 Awka, Anambra, Nigeria2,399 views
Lanre is the first person in the family to go to university. He is studying an electrical engineering diploma at Awka Community College, and is one semester away from graduating. He has worked as a tutor to pay the way, but this term the hours were cut and there's an unpaid balance of $450.
The registrar has said Lanre can't enroll for the next term until the balance is cleared. Lanre has a 3.8 average, and a faculty supervisor has written in support.
Graduating means a stable job and the chance to support the younger siblings. Without enrolling this term Lanre would lose his place and scholarship eligibility.
Lanre isn't asking for a handout - He wants to finish what He started and help the next student.
Everything raised goes to the university's accounts office toward the outstanding balance and the final term's fees.
Where the $450 goes:
• Outstanding tuition balance: $380
• Textbooks and materials: $40
• Exam and lab fees: $30
Thank you so much.
