Landslide in Tiruchirappalli: help Harbor village rebuild
After the landslide, families in Harbor village need clean water, roofing materials and bedding.
🇮🇳 Tiruchirappalli, Tamil Nadu, India746 views
The landslide hit Harbor village on 29 July. My home was one of 39 damaged, and 11 families are still in temporary shelter at the sports club.
The first few days we shared what little we had. Now the cleanup has started, but we've no money for materials and winter or the rainy season is coming.
Schools in the area have been closed, and the clinic lost its cold storage for vaccines. We're a small community of working families who have never asked for help before.
We have formed a volunteer committee, and I'm the treasurer, so I'll post receipts for everything we buy.
Funds go to building materials, water purification supplies, bedding, and food for families still in shelters.
Where the $1,100 goes:
• Roofing sheets and timber: $360
• Bedding, blankets and mattresses: $165
• Tools and labor for repairs: $240
• Food parcels for displaced families: $335
With deep gratitude,
Amit

Hope you get there. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected. Greetings from Sakai.
Take care. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. It's not much but it's yours. Thinking of Tiruchirappalli.
thanks for sharing this. Hope this works out for you. Don't give up
sending good thoughts, Amit. Hope this works out for you. After 26 years in farming I know how hard it's to ask for anything.
So sorry you're going through this, Amit. Projects like this are what make a place worth living in. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double
Wishing you peace. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. The breakdown of costs made it easy to trust
