Landslide in Pune: help the Marketplace district rebuild
After the landslide, families in the Marketplace district need clean water, roofing materials and bedding.

The landslide hit the Marketplace district on 27 August. My home was one of 21 damaged, and 8 families are still in temporary shelter at the sports club.
The first few days we shared what little we had. Now the cleanup has started, but we've no money for materials and winter or the rainy season is coming.
Schools in the area have been closed, and the clinic lost its cold storage for vaccines. We're a small community of working families who have never asked for help before.
We have formed a volunteer committee, and I'm the treasurer, so I'll post receipts for everything we buy.
We buy supplies locally and in bulk, so the money goes further. Receipts and photos will be posted in updates.
Where the $1,050 goes:
• Clean water and purification supplies: $165
• Roofing sheets and timber: $380
• Food parcels for displaced families: $310
• Bedding, blankets and mattresses: $195
I hope life is good to you.
Updates from Sneha
Quick update: $703 raised so far (67%). we've started the first stage. Receipts coming as soon as I have them.
Update from Pune: I met with the suppliers and confirmed the amounts. We're at 89% of the goal. Thank you for believing in us.

gave what I could, wish it was more. Wish I lived closer to Mumbai so I could bring a meal. Greetings from Athens.
Hope you get there. Don't be hard on yourself for asking. Thinking of Pune
Rooting for you. It takes guts to ask. Well done. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double. Love from Cairo.
Hope things get better soon, Sneha. Hope the build day goes well, wish I lived closer. Thinking of Pune.
