Davao City
The landslide hit Orchard village on 22 December. My home was one of 19 damaged, and 5 families are still in temporary shelter at the community hall. The first few days we shared what little we had. Now the cleanup has started, but we've no money for materials and winter or the rainy season is coming. Schools in the area have been closed, and the clinic lost its cold storage for vaccines. We're a small community of working families who have never asked for help before. We have formed a volunteer committee, and I'm the treasurer, so I'll post receipts for everything we buy. Funds go to building materials, water purification supplies, bedding, and food for families still in shelters. Where the $550 goes: • Clean water and purification supplies: $180 • Food parcels for displaced families: $220 • Bedding, blankets and mattresses: $150 I hope life is good to you.

Thank you. If you're in Davao City I'll say if something practical comes up. For now sharing this is great. Good question.

    • Thinking of you. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. The breakdown of costs made it easy to trust. God bless!

      • shared this with my family. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected.

        • Sending love, Rolando. Shared it with a few friends. Love from Alcalá de Henares.

          • Rooting for you. Hope the build day goes well, wish I lived closer. My cousin had a similar thing happen so this one hit home. Thinking of Davao City

            • So sorry you're going through this, Rolando. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. I hope March is when things finally get easier.
