Lagos flood relief - the Millbrook district
The flood damaged 78 homes in the Millbrook district. We're raising funds for repairs, supplies and temporary shelter.

The flood hit the Millbrook district on 6 May. My home was one of 78 damaged, and 10 families are still in temporary shelter at a borrowed warehouse.
The first few days we shared what little we had. Now the cleanup has started, but we've no money for materials and winter or the rainy season is coming.
Schools in the area have been closed, and the clinic lost its cold storage for vaccines. We're a small community of working families who have never asked for help before.
We have formed a volunteer committee, and I'm the treasurer, so I'll post receipts for everything we buy.
We buy supplies locally and in bulk, so the money goes further. Receipts and photos will be posted in updates.
Where the $950 goes:
• Tools and labor for repairs: $95
• Roofing sheets and timber: $580
• Food parcels for displaced families: $125
• Clean water and purification supplies: $150
Thanks for reading all this.

Take care. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. Don't be hard on yourself for asking. Thinking of Lagos.
Thanks for sharing this, Obinna. Great idea, hope you get there. My colleague had a similar thing happen so this one hit home. All the best.
hope you get there. Thinking of Lagos.
Gave what I could, wish it was more. Sent it to 5 people at work. God bless.
