For four years I have run a neighborhood bakery in Nashik. In August, the demolition of the market took a commercial oven. I have no insurance, and the bank won't lend to me. Before that, my customers came every Thursday, and I employed 3 people from the neighborhood. I have been out of business for 7 weeks. This business pays my children's school fees and rent. I have already started working from home in small ways, but I can't meet orders without proper equipment. Every contribution brings me closer to reopening, and I promise to post photos as I buy each item. I'll buy equipment from local suppliers and post photos and receipts as I go. Where the $500 goes: • Replacing a commercial oven: $370 • Initial stock: flour, butter and sugar: $65 • Working capital for the first month: $65 I'll keep this page updated with receipts as things happen. - Krishna

Updates from Krishna

  1. Thank you all. We're at 43% now ($215). I'm honestly stunned. the plan for initial stock: flour, butter and sugar is now scheduled.

  2. Update from Nashik: I made the first payment toward replacing a commercial oven. We're at 9% of the goal. Thank you for believing in us.
