Komal was diagnosed with kidney cancer in March. The oncology team at Mumbai Cancer Centre has planned 8 rounds of treatment, starting in June. She will be away from work for about 4 weeks. Komal is 37, worked as a bank teller until March, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after her. Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Mumbai Cancer Centre 3 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly. We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off her shoulders. Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment. Where the $1,300 goes: • Household costs while unable to work: $240 • Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $880 • Transport to Mumbai Cancer Centre: $100 • Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $80 Thanks for being kind about this. - Arjun

  • Hope it all works out, Arjun. Hope the treatment goes smoothly and recovery is quick. We lost years of savings to something like this so I get it. All the best
