After a large ovarian cyst, Samjhana was cleared for knee replacement surgery, but the bill is more than we can manage.

Samjhana was diagnosed with a large ovarian cyst in August. The surgeon at Kathmandu Community Hospital recommended knee replacement surgery, and She is scheduled for October. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $190, and after what the public health scheme will pay we're still $150 short. my daughter has been in and out of Kathmandu Community Hospital since August. The doctors say a large ovarian cyst will get worse without knee replacement surgery. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $190 is more than we can find. While we wait, Samjhana struggles with daily life and can't walk without help. Her family has taken turns caring for her, and I've cut my own work hours to be there. The recovery period is expected to take about 10 weeks. During that time Samjhana won't be able to walk without help, so the costs keep growing. The money goes straight to the treatment bills, and I'll share the invoices as they're paid so you can see exactly what your gift did. Where the $150 goes: • Post-operative medication: $50 • Travel and lodging for the family: $55 • Physiotherapy sessions: $45 Thanks for reading all this. - Sangita
