Rey was diagnosed with a cleft palate needing repair in June. The surgeon at Saint Matthew Hospital recommended knee replacement surgery, and He is scheduled for September. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $1,400, and after what my insurance will pay we're still $1,050 short. my brother has been in and out of Saint Matthew Hospital since June. The doctors say a cleft palate needing repair will get worse without knee replacement surgery. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $1,400 is more than we can find. While we wait, Rey struggles with daily life and can't stand for more than ten minutes. His family has taken turns caring for him, and I've cut my own work hours to be there. Recovery is expected to take about 7 weeks. During that time Rey won't be able to stand for more than ten minutes, so the costs keep growing. The money goes straight to the treatment bills, and I'll share the invoices as they're paid so you can see exactly what your gift did. Where the $1,050 goes: • Travel and lodging for the family: $80 • Hospital stay (3 nights): $450 • Post-operative medication: $75 • Surgeon and anesthesia fees: $445 Glad we found this place.

  • Hang in there, Jayson. Looking forward to the next update. After 20 years in construction I know how hard it's to ask for anything. All the best

    • Thinking of you and your family, Jayson. Shared it with a few friends. I hope September is when things finally get easier. Love from Poznań
