Margaux was diagnosed with severe cataracts in both eyes in December. The surgeon at Paris General Hospital recommended knee replacement surgery, and She is scheduled for February. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $5,750, and after what the government subsidy will pay we're still $4,050 short.
my wife has been in and out of Paris General Hospital since December. The doctors say severe cataracts in both eyes will get worse without knee replacement surgery. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $5,750 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Margaux struggles with daily life and can't work a full shift. Her family has taken turns caring for her, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
Recovery is expected to take about 6 weeks. During that time Margaux won't be able to work a full shift, so the costs keep growing.
