Knee replacement surgery for Krishna: covering what insurance won't
A scheduled knee replacement surgery in September is out of reach without help covering $500 of the cost.

Krishna was diagnosed with osteoarthritis in the right knee in July. The surgeon at Thane University Hospital recommended knee replacement surgery, and He is scheduled for September. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $1,000, and after what our health plan will pay we're still $500 short.
my son has been in and out of Thane University Hospital since July. The doctors say osteoarthritis in the right knee will get worse without knee replacement surgery. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $1,000 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Krishna struggles with daily life and can't work a full shift. His family has taken turns caring for him, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
The recovery period is expected to take about 10 weeks. During that time Krishna won't be able to work a full shift, so the costs keep growing.
The money goes straight to the treatment bills, and I'll share the invoices as they're paid so you can see exactly what your gift did.
Where the $500 goes:
• Surgeon and anesthesia fees: $330
• Pre-operative tests and imaging: $75
• Physiotherapy sessions: $95
Even a small gift gets used right away and I'll thank you myself.

Sending strength, Jyoti. Get well soon. Wish I lived closer to El Paso so I could bring a meal. Take care.
