Knee replacement surgery for Cristina: covering what insurance won't
A scheduled knee replacement surgery in March is out of reach without help covering $2,200 of the cost.

Cristina was diagnosed with a deviated septum causing chronic infections in December. The surgeon at Timișoara Community Hospital recommended knee replacement surgery, and She is scheduled for March. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $2,950, and after what the public health scheme will pay we're still $2,200 short.
my daughter has been in and out of Timișoara Community Hospital since December. The doctors say a deviated septum causing chronic infections will get worse without knee replacement surgery. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $2,950 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Cristina struggles with daily life and can't climb stairs. Her family has taken turns caring for her, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
Rehabilitation is expected to take about 3 weeks. During that time Cristina won't be able to climb stairs, so the costs keep growing.
I'll pay the hospital and pharmacy directly and post every receipt in the updates section.
