Knee replacement surgery for Beatriz: covering what insurance won't

Beatriz was diagnosed with severe cataracts in both eyes in March. The surgeon at Aurora Community Hospital recommended knee replacement surgery, and She is scheduled for July. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $4,150, and after what our health plan will pay we're still $2,900 short.
my mother has been in and out of Aurora Community Hospital since March. The doctors say severe cataracts in both eyes will get worse without knee replacement surgery. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $4,150 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Beatriz struggles with daily life and can't stand for more than ten minutes. Her family has taken turns caring for her, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
The recovery period is expected to take about 8 weeks. During that time Beatriz won't be able to stand for more than ten minutes, so the costs keep growing.
