After a cleft palate needing repair, Ayumi was cleared for knee replacement surgery, but the bill is more than we can manage.

Ayumi was diagnosed with a cleft palate needing repair in March. The surgeon at Tokyo Community Hospital recommended knee replacement surgery, and She is scheduled for June. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $7,750, and after what our health plan will pay we're still $4,650 short. my wife has been in and out of Tokyo Community Hospital since March. The doctors say a cleft palate needing repair will get worse without knee replacement surgery. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $7,750 is more than we can find. While we wait, Ayumi struggles with daily life and can't walk without help. Her family has taken turns caring for her, and I've cut my own work hours to be there. The recovery period is expected to take about 5 weeks. During that time Ayumi won't be able to walk without help, so the costs keep growing. The money goes straight to the treatment bills, and I'll share the invoices as they're paid so you can see exactly what your gift did. Where the $4,650 goes: • Physiotherapy sessions: $450 • Hospital stay (2 nights): $1,150 • Travel and lodging for the family: $320 • Surgeon and anesthesia fees: $2,730 Ask me anything below before you decide. I'd rather you were sure.
