Kiprop's stage 2 breast cancer treatment fund

Kiprop is facing stage 2 breast cancer and the cost of treatment, travel and care at home is far beyond what the family can cover.

Zanzibar City
Kiprop was diagnosed with stage 2 breast cancer in August. The oncology team at the Zanzibar City Oncology Institute has planned 10 rounds of treatment, starting in November. He will be away from work for about 10 weeks. Kiprop is 40, worked as a bank teller until August, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after him. Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to the Zanzibar City Oncology Institute 4 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly. We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off his shoulders. Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment. Where the $1,050 goes: • Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $500 • Scans and lab work: $240 • Transport to the Zanzibar City Oncology Institute: $120 • Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $50 • Household costs while unable to work: $140 If you're reading this, thank you. - Muthoni

Everything on the list is an amount I've been quoted or invoiced. chemotherapy and medication not covered comes first ($500) and I'll update the page as each thing gets paid. Ask me anything else.
