Kimani needs a braille note-taker - help us make it happen
Kimani needs a braille note-taker that the health system won't fund; the cost is $650.
🇰🇪 Kenya502 views
Kimani lives with an amputation below the knee. The occupational therapist at the Mombasa Rehabilitation Centre has assessed him and recommended a braille note-taker. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $650.
His current equipment is 9 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined him to home for 7 weeks.
With the right equipment Kimani could go outside without waiting for someone to push. It would change everyday life for the whole family.
We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest.
Funds go toward the equipment, delivery, fitting and a year of servicing.
Where the $650 goes:
• First-year servicing plan: $55
• braille note-taker: $560
• Delivery and set-up: $35
