Kieran was diagnosed with a rare sarcoma in September. The oncology team at the Dublin Oncology Institute has planned 4 rounds of treatment, starting in October. He will be away from work for about 6 weeks.
Kieran is 37, worked as a bus conductor until September, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after him.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to the Dublin Oncology Institute 5 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly.
We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off his shoulders.
Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment.
Where the $5,650 goes:
• Transport to the Dublin Oncology Institute: $900
• Scans and lab work: $1,000
• Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $3,750
