Khalid needs a cochlear implant processor upgrade - help us make it happen
Khalid needs a cochlear implant processor upgrade that the health system won't fund; the cost is $300.
🇪🇬 Alexandria, Egypt658 views
Khalid lives with muscular dystrophy. The occupational therapist at the Alexandria Mobility Clinic has assessed him and recommended a cochlear implant processor upgrade. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $300.
His current equipment is 11 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined him to home for 12 weeks.
With the right equipment Khalid could get to the shops and visit friends. It would change everyday life for the whole family.
We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest.
I'll pay the supplier directly from the funds, and I'll post a photo once the equipment is delivered.
Where the $300 goes:
• First-year servicing plan: $45
• cochlear implant processor upgrade: $240
• Delivery and set-up: $15
You're what makes this possible, and I'll never forget it.

Thank you. If you're in Alexandria I'll say if something practical comes up. For now sharing this is great. Thanks, that means a lot.
hope things get better soon, Amir. It takes guts to ask. Well done. Blessings.
Thanks for sharing this, Amir. Looking forward to the next update. We lost years of savings to something like this so I get it. Love from Birmingham.
Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. We're a small family in Auckland but we're thinking of you. All the best.
praying for you. Hope the doctors have good news. Thinking of Alexandria.
