In April I was diagnosed with endometriosis requiring surgery. My surgeon at Santa Fe Regional Medical Center recommended knee replacement surgery, and I have been placed on the schedule for July. The hospital's financial office gave me a written estimate of $9,250, and after what my insurance will pay, I'm still $7,400 short.
Doctors at Santa Fe Regional Medical Center told me endometriosis requiring surgery will get worse without knee replacement surgery. I work as a security guard, and I have saved what I can, but the estimate of $9,250 is far beyond what I've.
Until the surgery I can't work full days, and my hours as a security guard have already been cut. Every week of waiting means more pain and a bigger risk.
Recovery is expected to take about 10 weeks. I'll not be able to work a full shift during that time, so this has become a financial emergency as well as a medical one.

Everything on the list is an amount I've been quoted or invoiced. pre-operative tests and imaging comes first ($320) and I'll update the page as each thing gets paid. Thanks for asking.
