Kevin's valve repair surgery can't wait - please help us cover the bill
After a herniated spinal disc, Kevin was cleared for valve repair surgery, but the bill is more than we can manage.

In July I was diagnosed with a herniated spinal disc. My surgeon at Mthatha General Hospital recommended valve repair surgery, and I have been placed on the schedule for September. The hospital's financial office gave me a written estimate of $2,700, and after what my employer's plan will pay, I'm still $2,150 short.
Doctors at Mthatha General Hospital told me a herniated spinal disc will get worse without valve repair surgery. I work as a delivery rider, and I have saved what I can, but the estimate of $2,700 is far beyond what I've.
Until the surgery I can't work full days, and my hours as a delivery rider have already been cut. Every week of waiting means more pain and a bigger risk.
The recovery period is expected to take about 8 weeks. I'll not be able to lift anything heavy during that time, so this has become a financial emergency as well as a medical one.
