Kendall was diagnosed with a cleft palate needing repair in September. The surgeon at Los Angeles University Hospital recommended septoplasty, and She is scheduled for December. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $3,800, and after what my insurance will pay we're still $2,650 short.
my mother has been in and out of Los Angeles University Hospital since September. The doctors say a cleft palate needing repair will get worse without septoplasty. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $3,800 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Kendall struggles with daily life and can't lift anything heavy. Her family has taken turns caring for her, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
Rehabilitation is expected to take about 8 weeks. During that time Kendall won't be able to lift anything heavy, so the costs keep growing.
