The water account is 4 months behind. Maria received a disconnection notice that says service will be cut off on June unless $250 is paid. She had never been late before losing my job in March.
Maria called the provider and asked about a payment plan, but they need a down payment of $30 first, which isn't available.
The household includes an elderly mother, and going through summer without water isn't safe. Without it we can't refrigerate insulin and food, or keep the house at a safe temperature.
Maria is working on getting back on her feet, and wants to pay it forward once steady.
