The heating account is 4 months behind. I received a disconnection notice that says service will be cut off on May unless I pay $600. I have never been late before an unexpected car repair. I called the provider and asked about a payment plan, but they need a down payment of $105 first, which I don't have. I live with a parent on oxygen therapy, and going through summer without heating isn't safe. We can't cook, keep medicine cold or heat the home. I'm working on getting back on my feet, and will pay forward whatever help I can once I'm steady. The money will go directly to the utility provider, and I'll post the paid statement here. Where the $600 goes: • Heating arrears: $300 • Reconnection and late fees: $120 • Down payment on a payment plan: $180 If you're reading this, thank you. - Itzel

  • Stay strong. I was in a similar spot a few years ago and it did get better. The breakdown of costs made it easy to trust.
