The gas account is 2 months behind. I received a disconnection notice that says service will be cut off on August unless I pay $200. I have never been late before losing my job in April.
I called the provider and asked about a payment plan, but they need a down payment of $25 first, which I don't have.
I live with a parent on oxygen therapy, and going through the cold months without gas isn't safe. Without it we can't refrigerate insulin and food, or keep the house at a safe temperature.
I'm working on getting back on my feet, and will pay forward whatever help I can once I'm steady.
The money will go directly to the utility provider, and I'll post the paid statement here.

• Utility arrears: $75
• Reconnection and late fees: $45
• Down payment on a payment plan: $80

Thinking of you. I was in a similar spot a few years ago and it did get better. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected.
Is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Márcio.
