John is behind on gas bills after losing my job in January and needs $700 to avoid a shut-off.

John called the provider and asked about a payment plan, but they need a down payment of $145 first, which isn't available.
The household includes three children under ten, and going through winter without gas isn't safe. We would also lose the ability to run the medical equipment at home.
