Keep the gas on at Joaquín's home in Madrid
A disconnection notice for gas arrived and Joaquín needs $650 before September.
🇪🇸 Madrid, Spain1,463 views
The gas account is 3 months behind. Joaquín received a disconnection notice that says service will be cut off on September unless $650 is paid. He had never been late before an unexpected car repair.
Joaquín called the provider and asked about a payment plan, but they need a down payment of $85 first, which isn't available.
The household includes a parent on oxygen therapy, and going through the rainy season without gas isn't safe. Without it we can't refrigerate insulin and food, or keep the house at a safe temperature.
Joaquín is working on getting back on his feet, and wants to pay it forward once steady.
Every dollar goes to the account in Joaquín's name; a copy of the paid bill will be shared in the updates.
Where the $650 goes:
• Water arrears: $390
• Reconnection and late fees: $90
• Down payment on a payment plan: $170
You're what makes this possible, and I'll never forget it.

Keep going. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. My husband and I read this together. Thinking of Madrid.
You're not alone, Jorge. This could happen to any of us. I'm in accounting myself and wanted you to know we're cheering for you.
