Keep the gas on at Fergal's home in Cork
Fergal is behind on gas bills after June's medical emergency and needs $650 to avoid a shut-off.

The gas account is 3 months behind. I received a disconnection notice that says service will be cut off on August unless I pay $650. I have never been late before June's medical emergency.
I called the provider and asked about a payment plan, but they need a down payment of $175 first, which I don't have.
I live with a disabled brother, and going through winter without gas isn't safe. The children would have no light to study by.
I'm working on getting back on my feet, and will pay forward whatever help I can once I'm steady.
The money will go directly to the utility provider, and I'll post the paid statement here.
Where the $650 goes:
• Electricity arrears: $300
• Reconnection and late fees: $115
• Down payment on a payment plan: $235
Thanks for being kind about this.

everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. I'm in hospitality myself and wanted you to know we're cheering for you.
Is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Fergal
Everything on the list is an amount I've been quoted or invoiced. electricity arrears comes first ($300) and I'll update the page as each thing gets paid. Happy to explain more.

Keep going, Fergal. I hope things turn around soon. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected.

Hope things get better soon. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. Thinking of Cork
Keep going, Fergal. I was in a similar spot a few years ago and it did get better. Don't be hard on yourself for asking.
