The gas account is 4 months behind. I received a disconnection notice that says service will be cut off on July unless I pay $650. I have never been late before losing my job in March. I called the provider and asked about a payment plan, but they need a down payment of $135 first, which I don't have. I live with two young children, and going through summer without gas isn't safe. Without it we can't refrigerate insulin and food, or keep the house at a safe temperature. I'm working on getting back on my feet, and will pay forward whatever help I can once I'm steady. Where the $650 goes: • Gas arrears: $280 • Reconnection and late fees: $140 • Down payment on a payment plan: $230 I'll pay this kindness forward the moment I'm able to.
