Keep the electricity on at Tania's home in Dhaka
Help Tania cover an overdue electricity bill so the household stays safe this summer.
🇧🇩 Dhaka, Dhaka, Bangladesh985 views
The electricity account is 4 months behind. I received a disconnection notice that says service will be cut off on June unless I pay $100. I have never been late before a reduction in hours.
I called the provider and asked about a payment plan, but they need a down payment of $20 first, which I don't have.
I live with a newborn, and going through summer without electricity isn't safe. Without it we can't refrigerate insulin and food, or keep the house at a safe temperature.
I'm working on getting back on my feet, and will pay forward whatever help I can once I'm steady.
Every dollar goes to the account in Tania's name; a copy of the paid bill will be shared in the updates.
Where the $100 goes:
• Water arrears: $55
• Reconnection and late fees: $15
• Down payment on a payment plan: $30
Whatever you can give, even just sharing this page, means a lot.

Good news. Because of your gifts ($19 in total) the plan for water arrears is now scheduled. Still a way to go but it feels less lonely.

Praying for you, Tania. It takes guts to ask. Well done. All the best
Hope it all works out. I hope your landlord gives you a bit more time while this comes together. I hope June is when things finally get easier. Love from Odesa!
Thinking of you, Tania. Shared it with a few friends. I'm in accounting myself and wanted you to know we're cheering for you. Greetings from Johannesburg!
Good luck, Tania. Shared this with my family. I told my book club about it and three of them are giving too
You're not alone, Tania. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double. Thinking of Dhaka.
