Keep the electricity on at Ruby's home in Dallas
A disconnection notice for electricity arrived and Ruby needs $850 before October.

The electricity account is 3 months behind. Ruby received a disconnection notice that says service will be cut off on October unless $850 is paid. She had never been late before an unexpected car repair.
Ruby called the provider and asked about a payment plan, but they need a down payment of $95 first, which isn't available.
The household includes two young children, and going through summer without electricity isn't safe. We would also lose the ability to run the medical equipment at home.
Ruby is working on getting back on her feet, and wants to pay it forward once steady.
Every dollar goes to the account in Ruby's name; a copy of the paid bill will be shared in the updates.
Where the $850 goes:
โข Heating arrears: $630
โข Reconnection and late fees: $60
โข Down payment on a payment plan: $160
I'll keep this page updated with receipts as things happen.
