Keep the electricity on at Binod's home in Bhaktapur

A disconnection notice for electricity arrived and Binod needs $100 before September.

The electricity account is 2 months behind. Binod received a disconnection notice that says service will be cut off on September unless $100 is paid. He had never been late before losing my job in May. Binod called the provider and asked about a payment plan, but they need a down payment of $10 first, which isn't available. The household includes two young children, and going through winter without electricity isn't safe. Without it we can't refrigerate insulin and food, or keep the house at a safe temperature. Binod is working on getting back on his feet, and wants to pay it forward once steady. Every dollar goes to the account in Binod's name; a copy of the paid bill will be shared in the updates. Where the $100 goes: • Utility arrears: $70 • Reconnection and late fees: $15 • Down payment on a payment plan: $15 You're what makes this possible, and I'll never forget it.

Take care, Aarati. This could happen to any of us. After 29 years in accounting I know how hard it's to ask for anything. Blessings
