Keep a roof over Sushma's head in Kathmandu
A court summons for non-payment arrived last week. Sushma needs $350 to clear the arrears and stay housed in Kathmandu.

When the construction firm closed in August, I fell 2 months behind on rent. Last Wednesday a court summons for non-payment was taped to my door, and the amount I owe is $350.
My landlord has been understanding for a while, but he has now been clear: if the arrears aren't cleared by December, we must leave.
I have three school-aged children at home. Moving isn't just an expense - it would mean new schools, a new commute and no deposit to put down anywhere else.
I have started working weekend shifts, and I'm applying for help from local services, but nothing will arrive in time without the rest of the gap covered here.
The money will be paid directly to the landlord and I'll upload the receipt once it's done.
Where the $350 goes:
• Rent arrears (2 months): $280
• Utilities in arrears: $20
• Late fees and court costs: $50
I'll keep this page updated with receipts as things happen.

Best of luck. I was in a similar spot a few years ago and it did get better. Wish I lived closer to Epe so I could bring a meal.

You're not alone, Sushma. It takes guts to ask. Well done. After 15 years in accounting I know how hard it's to ask for anything. All the best.
