A long illness left Sofía short on rent for 2 months; help us stay in our home.

When the packaging plant closed in August, Sofía fell 2 months behind on rent. Last Tuesday a final eviction notice was taped to the door, and the amount owed is $1,100.
The landlord was understanding for a while, but has now been clear: if the arrears aren't cleared by November, the family must leave.
There are three school-aged children at home. Moving would mean new schools, a new commute and no deposit to put down anywhere else.
Sofía has started working night deliveries, and is applying for help from local services, but nothing will arrive in time without the rest of the gap covered here.
Funds go to the landlord and nowhere else. Any amount left over after the arrears are cleared will go toward next month's rent.
