Keep a roof over Shafiq's head in Bogra
A long illness left Shafiq short on rent for 2 months; help us stay in our home.

After a sudden layoff at the hotel, I fell 2 months behind on rent. Last Monday a court summons for non-payment was taped to my door, and the amount I owe is $350.
My landlord has been understanding for a while, but he has now been clear: if the arrears aren't cleared by November, we must leave.
I have two young children at home. Moving isn't just an expense - it would mean new schools, a new commute and no deposit to put down anywhere else.
I have started working extra hours at a market stall, and I'm applying for help from local services, but nothing will arrive in time without the rest of the gap covered here.
Funds go to the landlord and nowhere else. Any amount left over after the arrears are cleared will go toward next month's rent.
Where the $350 goes:
• Rent arrears (2 months): $170
• Late fees and court costs: $15
• Utilities in arrears: $25
• First month of rent as a buffer: $140
Thank you so much.

Is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Shafiq.
The list at the bottom is the whole picture. rent arrears (2 months) is the biggest at $170. Fair thing to want to know.
rooting for you, Shafiq. This could happen to any of us. We had a similar scare last year, I know what it feels like
Hang in there, Shafiq. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did.
Thinking of you and your family, Shafiq. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. Take care
Sending strength, Shafiq. A secure home matters so much. Hope you're settled soon.
You're not alone, Shafiq. I hope things turn around soon. I told my book club about it and three of them are giving too. God bless.
