Keep a roof over Saad's head in Karachi
A divorce left Saad short on rent for 3 months; help us stay in our home.
🇵🇰 Karachi, Sindh, Pakistan1,202 views
When my hours were cut in half in March, I fell 3 months behind on rent. Last Friday a final eviction notice was taped to my door, and the amount I owe is $400.
My landlord has been understanding for a while, but he has now been clear: if the arrears aren't cleared by May, we must leave.
I have two young children at home. Moving isn't just an expense - it would mean new schools, a new commute and no deposit to put down anywhere else.
I have started working two part-time jobs, and I'm applying for help from local services, but nothing will arrive in time without the rest of the gap covered here.
Funds go to the landlord and nowhere else. Any amount left over after the arrears are cleared will go toward next month's rent.
Where the $400 goes:
• Rent arrears (3 months): $190
• Late fees and court costs: $30
• Utilities in arrears: $45
• First month of rent as a buffer: $135
Thank you for reading my story.

Wishing you the best. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. I'm in nursing myself and wanted you to know we're cheering for you.
I hope your landlord gives you a bit more time while this comes together. Don't give up. Thinking of Karachi.
