Keep a roof over Ruby's head in Rockford
A termination letter arrived last week. Ruby needs $4,000 to clear the arrears and stay housed in Rockford.

After a sudden layoff at the hotel, I fell 3 months behind on rent. Last Saturday a termination letter was taped to my door, and the amount I owe is $4,000.
My landlord has been understanding for a while, but he has now been clear: if the arrears aren't cleared by July, we must leave.
I have a teenager still in school at home. Moving isn't just an expense - it would mean new schools, a new commute and no deposit to put down anywhere else.
I have started working evenings as a cleaner, and I'm applying for help from local services, but nothing will arrive in time without the rest of the gap covered here.
Funds go to the landlord and nowhere else. Any amount left over after the arrears are cleared will go toward next month's rent.
Where the $4,000 goes:
• Rent arrears (3 months): $2,650
• Late fees and court costs: $270
• Utilities in arrears: $135
• First month of rent as a buffer: $945

Wishing you the best. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. Put this on a community board in Nashik this morning
Thanks for sharing this, Ruby. Hope you get there. Don't be hard on yourself for asking.
hope things get better soon. Looking forward to the next update. We're a small family in Quezon City but we're thinking of you.
