Keep a roof over René's head in Strasbourg
After the loss of a second income, René is 5 months behind on rent and has a notice to vacate from the landlord.

After a sudden layoff at the packaging plant, René fell 5 months behind on rent. Last Friday a notice to vacate was taped to the door, and the amount owed is $2,850.
The landlord was understanding for a while, but has now been clear: if the arrears aren't cleared by July, the family must leave.
There are two young children at home. Moving would mean new schools, a new commute and no deposit to put down anywhere else.
René has started working extra hours at a market stall, and is applying for help from local services, but nothing will arrive in time without the rest of the gap covered here.
The money will be paid directly to the landlord and I'll upload the receipt once it's done.
Where the $2,850 goes:
• Late fees and court costs: $250
• Utilities in arrears: $175
• Rent arrears (5 months): $2,425

is there anything that isn't money that would help René?
Thank you. If you're in Strasbourg I'll say if something practical comes up. For now sharing this is great. Good question.
Thinking of you and your family, Zoé. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. Thinking of Strasbourg.
Wishing you peace, Zoé. Shared it with a few friends. My daughter saw me on my phone and now she wants to give her pocket money.
