Keep a roof over Raffaele's head in Rome
A delayed insurance payout left Raffaele short on rent for 4 months; help us stay in our home.
🇮🇹 Lazio, Italy4,184 views
After a car accident that kept me from work for 6 weeks, I fell 4 months behind on rent. Last Sunday a notice to vacate was taped to my door, and the amount I owe is $3,550.
My landlord has been understanding for a while, but he has now been clear: if the arrears aren't cleared by October, we must leave.
I have two young children at home. Moving isn't just an expense - it would mean new schools, a new commute and no deposit to put down anywhere else.
I have started working extra hours at a market stall, and I'm applying for help from local services, but nothing will arrive in time without the rest of the gap covered here.
Funds go to the landlord and nowhere else. Any amount left over after the arrears are cleared will go toward next month's rent.
Where the $3,550 goes:
• Rent arrears (4 months): $2,400
• Late fees and court costs: $160
• Utilities in arrears: $230
• First month of rent as a buffer: $760
Thanks for being kind about this.

How is Raffaele doing now?
stay strong, Raffaele. This could happen to any of us. Wish I lived closer to Pelotas so I could bring a meal.
Is there anything that isn't money that would help Raffaele?
hope this works out for you. I hope October is when things finally get easier. God bless.
hang in there. Your post was clear and honest. My sister had a similar thing happen so this one hit home.
Rooting for you, Raffaele. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double. Blessings.
Take care, Raffaele. Rent stress is the worst. Hope this helps.
