Keep a roof over Phúc's head in Macon
A long illness left Phúc short on rent for 3 months; help us stay in our home.
🇺🇸 Georgia, United States2,760 views
When my hours were cut in half in August, Phúc fell 3 months behind on rent. Last Thursday a final eviction notice was taped to the door, and the amount owed is $2,800.
The landlord was understanding for a while, but has now been clear: if the arrears aren't cleared by November, the family must leave.
There are two young children at home. Moving would mean new schools, a new commute and no deposit to put down anywhere else.
Phúc has started working evenings as a cleaner, and is applying for help from local services, but nothing will arrive in time without the rest of the gap covered here.
Funds go to the landlord and nowhere else. Any amount left over after the arrears are cleared will go toward next month's rent.
Where the $2,800 goes:
• Utilities in arrears: $150
• Rent arrears (3 months): $2,450
• Late fees and court costs: $200
