A 10-day notice to quit arrived last week. Noreen needs $300 to clear the arrears and stay housed in Gujranwala.

When the textile factory closed in September, Noreen fell 5 months behind on rent. Last Monday a 10-day notice to quit was taped to the door, and the amount owed is $300.
The landlord was understanding for a while, but has now been clear: if the arrears aren't cleared by December, the family must leave.
There are a toddler and a baby at home. Moving would mean new schools, a new commute and no deposit to put down anywhere else.
Noreen has started working evenings as a cleaner, and is applying for help from local services, but nothing will arrive in time without the rest of the gap covered here.
Funds go to the landlord and nowhere else. Any amount left over after the arrears are cleared will go toward next month's rent.
Where the $300 goes:
• Utilities in arrears: $25
• Rent arrears (5 months): $260
• Late fees and court costs: $15
