Keep a roof over Modupe's head in Badagry
A delayed insurance payout left Modupe short on rent for 2 months; help us stay in our home.

Following a long illness in the family, I fell 2 months behind on rent. Last Sunday a 10-day notice to quit was taped to my door, and the amount I owe is $600.
My landlord has been understanding for a while, but he has now been clear: if the arrears aren't cleared by August, we must leave.
I have three school-aged children at home. Moving isn't just an expense - it would mean new schools, a new commute and no deposit to put down anywhere else.
I have started working night deliveries, and I'm applying for help from local services, but nothing will arrive in time without the rest of the gap covered here.
The money will be paid directly to the landlord and I'll upload the receipt once it's done.
Where the $600 goes:
• Rent arrears (2 months): $400
• Late fees and court costs: $25
• Utilities in arrears: $35
• First month of rent as a buffer: $140
I'll keep this page updated with receipts as things happen.

Hang in there. I was in a similar spot a few years ago and it did get better. Greetings from Marseille.
Hope things get better soon. It takes guts to ask. Well done. Greetings from São Paulo
