Keep a roof over Michael's head in Munich
The closure of the factory left Michael short on rent for 3 months; help us stay in our home.
🇩🇪 Munich, Bavaria, Germany1,256 views
After a sudden layoff at the call centre, Michael fell 3 months behind on rent. Last Sunday a final eviction notice was taped to the door, and the amount owed is $1,400.
The landlord was understanding for a while, but has now been clear: if the arrears aren't cleared by December, the family must leave.
There are 3 children at home. Moving would mean new schools, a new commute and no deposit to put down anywhere else.
Michael has started working evenings as a cleaner, and is applying for help from local services, but nothing will arrive in time without the rest of the gap covered here.
Funds go to the landlord and nowhere else. Any amount left over after the arrears are cleared will go toward next month's rent.
Where the $1,400 goes:
• Utilities in arrears: $160
• Late fees and court costs: $240
• First month of rent as a buffer: $1,000

Stay strong, Jana. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. We had a similar scare last year, I know what it feels like. Love from Da Nang.
Rooting for you, Jana. Hope you get there. All the best.
Keep going, Jana. Looking forward to the next update. We lost years of savings to something like this so I get it. Blessings
Wishing you peace, Jana. Shared it with a few friends.
Wishing you peace. I was in a similar spot a few years ago and it did get better. After 26 years in public service I know how hard it's to ask for anything
