Keep a roof over Maya's head in Jakarta Selatan
The loss of a second income left Maya short on rent for 3 months; help us stay in our home.
🇮🇩 DKI Jakarta, Indonesia1,035 views
Following a long illness in the family, I fell 3 months behind on rent. Last Sunday a 10-day notice to quit was taped to my door, and the amount I owe is $550.
My landlord has been understanding for a while, but he has now been clear: if the arrears aren't cleared by October, we must leave.
I have two young children at home. Moving isn't just an expense - it would mean new schools, a new commute and no deposit to put down anywhere else.
I have started working two part-time jobs, and I'm applying for help from local services, but nothing will arrive in time without the rest of the gap covered here.
The money will be paid directly to the landlord and I'll upload the receipt once it's done.
Where the $550 goes:
• Rent arrears (3 months): $370
• Late fees and court costs: $20
• Utilities in arrears: $20
• First month of rent as a buffer: $140
Even a small gift gets used right away and I'll thank you myself.

I hope things turn around soon. Don't be hard on yourself for asking. Thinking of Jakarta Selatan.
I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. I told my book club about it and three of them are giving too. Thinking of Jakarta Selatan
