Keep a roof over Manoj's head in London
After a cut in working hours, Manoj is 4 months behind on rent and has a court summons for non-payment from the landlord.

When the bakery closed in August, I fell 4 months behind on rent. Last Saturday a court summons for non-payment was taped to my door, and the amount I owe is $2,800.
My landlord has been understanding for a while, but he has now been clear: if the arrears aren't cleared by November, we must leave.
I have three school-aged children at home. Moving isn't just an expense - it would mean new schools, a new commute and no deposit to put down anywhere else.
I have started working weekend shifts, and I'm applying for help from local services, but nothing will arrive in time without the rest of the gap covered here.
Funds go to the landlord and nowhere else. Any amount left over after the arrears are cleared will go toward next month's rent.
Where the $2,800 goes:
• First month of rent as a buffer: $710
• Rent arrears (4 months): $1,900
• Utilities in arrears: $190
Thanks for reading all this.

hang in there, Manoj. Gave what I could, wish it was more. Love from Pune.
I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. Wish I lived closer to Portland so I could bring a meal
Sending good thoughts. Your post was clear and honest. We lost years of savings to something like this so I get it. Greetings from Fresno
Sending good thoughts, Manoj. Gave what I could, wish it was more. I went through something like this 6 years ago and strangers helped me out. Thinking of London
