Keep a roof over Maëlle's head in Rabat
A long illness left Maëlle short on rent for 3 months; help us stay in our home.

Following a long illness in the family, I fell 3 months behind on rent. Last Saturday a final eviction notice was taped to my door, and the amount I owe is $200.
My landlord has been understanding for a while, but he has now been clear: if the arrears aren't cleared by November, we must leave.
I've 3 children at home. Moving isn't just an expense - it would mean new schools, a new commute and no deposit to put down anywhere else.
I have started working extra hours at a market stall, and I'm applying for help from local services, but nothing will arrive in time without the rest of the gap covered here.
Funds go to the landlord and nowhere else. Any amount left over after the arrears are cleared will go toward next month's rent.
Where the $200 goes:
• Utilities in arrears: $50
• First month of rent as a buffer: $115
• Late fees and court costs: $35

is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Maëlle
The list at the bottom is the whole picture. utilities in arrears is the biggest at $50. Good question.
You're not alone, Maëlle. It takes guts to ask. Well done. Our whole street has been following this since the weekend. Thinking of Rabat
