Keep a roof over Lucas's head in Jacksonville
A 10-day notice to quit arrived last week. Lucas needs $4,050 to clear the arrears and stay housed in Jacksonville.

When my hours were cut in half in September, Lucas fell 5 months behind on rent. Last Monday a 10-day notice to quit was taped to the door, and the amount owed is $4,050.
The landlord was understanding for a while, but has now been clear: if the arrears aren't cleared by December, the family must leave.
There are three school-aged children at home. Moving would mean new schools, a new commute and no deposit to put down anywhere else.
Lucas has started working two part-time jobs, and is applying for help from local services, but nothing will arrive in time without the rest of the gap covered here.
Funds go to the landlord and nowhere else. Any amount left over after the arrears are cleared will go toward next month's rent.
Where the $4,050 goes:
• Rent arrears (5 months): $2,900
• Late fees and court costs: $210
• Utilities in arrears: $210
• First month of rent as a buffer: $730

Rooting for you, Tyler. I hope things turn around soon. My husband and I read this together
Thinking of you, Tyler. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. Greetings from Kumasi.
